Our Revenue Sources

USA Online Loan operates as an independent financial media company. We earn revenue through the following channels:

1. Referral Fees (Affiliate Revenue)

When a reader clicks a link to a lender or financial product provider on our site and completes an application or purchase, we may receive a referral fee. This is the primary source of our revenue. The amount varies by lender and product type. These fees are paid by the lender, not by you — they do not increase the cost of any loan you obtain.

Important: a lender paying us a referral fee does not get a better review, a higher rating, or preferential placement in our comparison tables. Our ranking criteria are documented in our Review Methodology and applied uniformly regardless of commercial relationship.

2. Display Advertising

We display third-party advertisements on some pages. These are managed through standard advertising platforms and do not influence editorial content in any way. We do not write content in exchange for advertising placements.

3. Sponsored Content (Clearly Labeled)

Occasionally we publish sponsored content — articles paid for by a lender or financial company. All sponsored content is clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "Partner Content" at the top of the page. It does not appear alongside our editorial recommendations or in our comparison tables.

What Compensation Does NOT Affect

  • Our editorial ratings and star scores for any product
  • Which products appear in our "best of" roundups (those lists include only products our editorial team has assessed as genuinely good for consumers)
  • Our factual reporting on lender rates, fees, and terms
  • Whether we recommend against a product — we do this when warranted, regardless of commercial relationship

Products We Don't Partner With

We do not maintain referral relationships with payday lenders, predatory installment lenders, or any lender we've assessed as primarily harmful to consumers. We review and cover these products editorially — to warn consumers — but do not profit from sending readers to them.
